FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Paid Summer Internship

Marketing & Sales company to offer jobs and training

Little Rock, Arkansas (May 24, 2023) - Since the digital takeover, most journalism training has concentrated on multimedia inclusion, analytics, search engine optimization, and other ways to attract readers. But what about writing a story or producing a competent package? As newsrooms change, the mission -- to do good work -- stays the same.

To understand what’s needed in the evolving industry of communication, we encourage you to apply to be a summer intern with UrbanMediaGroup!

UrbanMediaGroup will partner with the City of Little Rock this summer by hiring aspiring content-creating interns, 16 - 21 (high school/college students) that will live in Little Rock this summer from Monday, June 12 - Thursday, July 27, 2023. Those interested in developing the critical skills necessary to be successful journalists, photographers, videographers, producers, writers, interviewer, announcers, website designers, graphic designers, and SEO managers can earn $15.00 guaranteed by the city of Little Rock plus bonuses from UrbanMediaGroup. In addition, you will acquire employable skills and strengthen your work ethic toward becoming a top-flight content producer.

This achievement can be accomplished by being immersed in an intense six (6) week course of study where introductions will be made to:

  • Balancing writing an article with the increasing demands to tell the story through different forms – visuals, social media, and the website, of course.
  • Writing on deadline after live-tweeting a meeting and shooting photos.

  • Receiving information on how to get the best work out of a camera phone; and

  • Learning tricks to pull off an MMJ job as the reporter, photographer, and editor!

Supervisors will be assigned to advise and assist with work assignments during intense workshops and on-the-job training for six (6) weeks. Work hours will depend on assignments.

Interns will complete 20 hours of job readiness training prior to job placement.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED CONTINUOUSLY FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL MIDNIGHT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2017.
