Summer Internship Recruitment
Multimedia agency offers training and employment
Little Rock, Arkansas (February 6, 2024) - Since the digital takeover, most journalism training has concentrated on multimedia inclusion, analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), and other ways to attract readers and viewers. But, what about writing a story or producing a competent package? As newsrooms change, the mission -- to do good work -- stays the same.
To understand what’s needed in the evolving information age, apply to be an intern with UrbanMediaGroup (UMG)!
UMG will hire aspiring content creators, 16 - 21 (high school/college students) that will live in Little Rock this summer from Monday, June 17 -Thursday, July 25, 2024. Those interested in developing the critical skills necessary to be successful journalists can earn $13.00 guaranteed by the city of Little Rock and bonuses from UrbanMediaGroup. In addition, participants will earn or acquire employable skills and strengthen their work ethic toward becoming top-flight journalists.
These achievements will all be accomplished by being immersed in an intense six (6) week of the hands-on application course of study where you will be introduced to:

Writing balanced articles with the increasing demand to tell stories through different forms – visuals, social media, and of course the website.

Meeting deadlines after live-tweeting or streaming a meeting and shooting photos.

Recording information to get the best results from devices ranging from camera phones to cinematic cameras; and

Learning techniques to complete MMJ jobs as a reporter, photographer, and editor!
Supervisors will be assigned to advise and assist with work assignments during intense workshops and on-the-job training for six (6) weeks. Work hours are flexible depending on assignments.
Interns will complete 20 hours of job readiness training prior to job placement.

Responsibilities
• Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting, and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned
• You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the Internet, social networking sites, and mobile phones, in addition to YouTube.
